Earlybirds is set in former church school rooms which provide spacious, safe and secure facilities for children to learn and develop. Our children are provided with the very best opportunity to stretch their boundaries, explore, experiment and reach their full potential during those critical early years.
Earlybirds is a family run business managed by the owner who has a Foundation Degree in Professional Studies in Teaching & Learning and an Honours Degree in Education and Training.
At Earlybirds we have an enthusiastic team of Early Years Practitioners who are committed to providing the highest quality care for your children. Our practitioners are selected following a rigorous recruitment process, during which we take into account qualifications, experience, dedication and commitment. All practitioners have access to a wide range of training programs throughout the year enabling them to continually build on their skills and knowledge. At Earlybirds we pride ourselves on the high qualifications of our staff team. We make it a condition of employment that all staff are, at least, Level 3 qualified in Early Years and are Paediatric First Aid Qualified too.
Our Nursery Provision
Earlybirds has nursery provision for children aged between birth and five years. This includes our baby room (birth to two years), our toddler room (two to three years) and our pre-school room (three to five years). Each room is split into the age ranges as detailed above to ensure that the provision can be closely matched to your child’s interests and stage of development. Earlybirds ensures all children access outdoor play on a daily basis which gives the children the opportunity to experience the world about them in all types of weather. Our communal dining arrangements enable our children to socialise with and learn from other children of differing ages.
Our Before and After School Provision & Holiday Club
At Earlybirds we work in collaboration with our local schools to support busy working families with our school wraparound care and holiday club. We deliver and collect our children to and from all schools in the surrounding community, mostly on foot, and with a mini bus service to schools slightly further afield. This provides continuity of care that enables parents to take up full time employment with the confidence and assurance that their children are cared for safely until the end of the working day. During school holidays, we organise a range of activities and outings for our 5 years+ children which are designed to provide full day care that is both educational and entertaining embracing our philosophy "it's fun to learn". .
Starting nursery or moving from another setting can be a worrying time for both you and your child. In order to help you feel happy and secure at Earlybirds, our settling in process is flexible to ensure your child’s individual needs are met.
To ensure that parents/carers feel confident that their child is happy and secure at Earlybirds, we provide flexible settling in periods designed to meet the individual needs of your child. Practitioners within each room are there to support the settling in sessions and to answer any questions or queries. Practitioners will spend time getting to know you, your child and your family to ensure positive relationships are built right from the very beginning.
Your Key Person
During your settling in sessions at Earlybirds you will be introduced to your child’s key person, who has special responsibilities for working with you and your child and giving them the reassurance to feel safe and cared for during their time at nursery. Your key person will spend time building a close relationship with you and your child to ensure that they can fully meet your needs. Your key person will also spend a lot of time talking to you and observing your child to find out about their individual interests and will use this information to plan exciting experiences for them each day.
